Position Summary:The Department of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Alaska Anchorage (UAA) invites applications for a bipartite, non-tenure track Term Instructor position, at the level of between 80%-100%. The position is responsible for teaching Lower Division Physics and/or Astronomy courses, with the possibility of teaching a lecture course depending on qualifications. The department offers a Minor in Physics, and directly supports degree programs in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering and Mathematics by offering a variety of lower and upper division courses in Physics and Astronomy..
100Teaching Lower Division Physics and/or Astronomy Lab and Recitation Courses. Teach courses in a manner consistent with the course content description. Experience working with a diverse population. The successful candidate will be energetic, detail oriented, passionate about teaching and have experience working with a diverse population. A M.S. in Physics or related discipline and experience teaching at the undergraduate level is required. Candidate must have knowledge, skills and ability to teach at the college level.
